Tiger Bay Club: Beyond the Marches – Social Justice in Tampa Bay Today

The Tampa Tiger Bay Club will host a panel discussion on Friday, April 23 on the impact of protests that erupted locally and across the country in the wake of George Floyd’s death while in police custody.

Last summer saw numerous protests around Tampa Bay demanding justice, but has anything really changed?  This is the question that a diverse  panel will take up during our first in-person forum in more than a year.

The panel will feature Stanley Gray of the Urban League of Hillsborough County, community organizer and political strategist Bernice Lauredan and Yvette Lewis, president of the Hillsborough County NAACP.

The forum will be in the ballroom of the Cuban Club in Ybor City. Registration begins at 11:30 and the program will begin promptly at noon. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance by visiting TigerBayClub.com.  Due to ongoing Covid-19 concerns, capacity for the event will be limited and tables will be socially distanced.

Tampa Tiger Bay Club President Tom Scherberger will moderate. Only Tiger Bay Club members may ask questions. To become a member, go to https://www.tigerbayclub.com/join-tbc/

For nearly 40 years, the Tampa Tiger Bay Club has presented live discussions of important topics of the day.
